Coffee Roasters Program Level 1

How to start your roastery

☕ Roasting your own coffee is extremely popular, but there’s a lot involved! You can have the best roasting equipment, but that doesn’t make you a good coffee roaster. Which green coffee beans should you choose, and how do you know if your roasting results are top quality?

The Coffee Roasting Course Level 1 fully prepares you for the profession of coffee roaster, so you can get started with confidence. Do you have no experience yet and want to become a coffee roaster? Then this training course is perfect for you!

What can you expect?

After completing this course, you will have acquired basic knowledge and skills in the following areas:

✅ Origin and processing of coffee
✅ Different varieties of coffee
✅ Assessment of green coffee
✅ Trade and sustainability in the coffee world
✅ Flavour recognition and assessment (cupping)
✅ The complete roasting process

Times: 9:30 – 16:30/17:00
👥 Group size: 3 – 6 participants
🗣️ Language: Dutch or English
💰 Investment: €1.850 VAT excempt
💰 SCA enrollment fees: €225
🍽️ Inclusive: Readers & lunch on training days

When an English-speaking participant registers for the training, the language will be switched to English. If you prefer Dutch, please contact us to discuss the options.

SCA BARISTA SKILLS INTERMEDIATE | We go beyond just technique: you learn to critically analyze whether your coffee meets the highest quality standards, based on both measured factors and taste.

SCA BREWING INTERMEDIATE | In de SCA Brewing Intermediate training analyseren we de bereide koffie met behulp van de refractometer en de coffee brew control chart.
