This course, consisting of the SCA Barista Skills Intermediate & Professional courses, will teach you everything you need to become a true coffee expert. You will not only learn how to brew the perfect coffee, but also gain extensive knowledge on:

Additional Information:

Language: The training will be given in Dutch or English. If an English-speaking participant registers for the training course, we will switch to English. Should you object to this and really only want to follow the training in Dutch, please contact us first at info@koffieschool.nl or 030-6336538. It is no longer possible to object after booking.

Exam: The written exam will be taken online. If you are dyslexic, please indicate this at registration. We should apply for a waiver so that you can take the exam on paper and with more time.

Mandatory practice period: Between the Intermediate level and the Professional level, a mandatory period of 3 months has been set by the SCA. During this time, you need to work in practice to be sufficiently prepared for the Professional exam. If you wish to participate in a Professional training course, you must be able to prove that you hold an SCA Intermediate certificate for the relevant module.

Practice: Not working as a barista or don’t have an espresso machine at your disposal? It is possible to come and practice without guidance. You make an appointment of at least 2 hours for this. The cost is €25 for the use of equipment, coffee and accessories.

Retakes: For the Intermediate and Professional level: The practical exams consist of several parts. If you fail one or more sections, you can retake them once. This incurs extra costs:

  • Intermediate: €50,- excl. per part
  • Professional: €75,- excl. per part You have 2 attempts for the online written exam. Should you fail both attempts and still want to obtain the certificate, you will have to re-register for the relevant course.

 

Once you have attended all days, you will also receive the Coffee School Diploma for the Level 2 Barista Course.
