SCA Green coffee professional

Become a coffee trader

When you, as a coffee roaster, decide to buy your coffee directly, it is important to be well prepared. Because there is a lot involved in the process of bringing your desired coffee to this side of the ocean.

  • Which coffee do you select? what variety and origin?
  • Which processing methods do you choose and how does this affect the quality?
  • How do you recognize a defect in appearance and taste?
  • How do you determine the price and what are the costs involved?
  • How do you ensure that the quality is guaranteed during the period of storage and transport?
  • How is the contract drawn up?

In addition to learning a lot about the trade, judging the coffees on taste and defects is part of this training.
